Quality Assurance
Build a quality agreement around the product and manufacturing route. Define inspections, acceptance, traceability, change approval and nonconformity handling so the customer and manufacturing team use the same release criteria.
Requirements for an engineering review
| Topic | Information to supply | Decision to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Incoming material | Approved BOM, source rules, packaging and supplier records. | Agree checks, exceptions and release responsibility. |
| Process control | Released files, work instructions, first-article and change checkpoints. | Identify approval evidence and revision ownership. |
| Inspection and testing | Method, coverage, frequency, limits and records. | State exclusions as well as pass conditions. |
| Traceability | Board revision, material/build identification and agreed retention needs. | Define the records and how a discrepancy is investigated. |
| Certificate review | Certificate holder, address, validity and exact scope. | Assess its applicability to the proposed site and product. |
How to confirm the applicable range
Send the current revision and the limits that matter to your product. The review should identify the responsible manufacturing site or supply partner, the agreed conditions and the approval needed for exceptions. Keep the confirmed range, source and review date with the released project records.
Release checklist
- Resolve conflicting notes or units before the order is released.
- Confirm whether the requirement is routine, requires an engineering trial or is outside the proposed scope.
- Agree inspection or verification evidence and the owner of unresolved design decisions.
