PCB Fabrication Capability
Match PCB fabrication to a complete board specification. A manufacturing limit is meaningful only with its material, stackup, tolerance and process conditions; identify the responsible site before treating it as an approved capability.
Requirements for an engineering review
| Topic | Information to supply | Decision to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Layer count, material, finished thickness in mm and copper in µm or stated oz/ft². | Review the combined construction rather than isolated minimum values. |
| Drilling and vias | Finished hole diameter in mm, plated/non-plated status and via structure. | Confirm drill, plating, aspect-ratio and tolerance conditions. |
| Impedance | Target impedance in Ω, permitted tolerance and reference stackup. | Agree materials, geometry and how verification is performed. |
| Acceptance | Drawing revision, electrical test and dimensional/inspection criteria. | State the required evidence and any special qualification. |
How to confirm the applicable range
Send the current revision and the limits that matter to your product. The review should identify the responsible manufacturing site or supply partner, the agreed conditions and the approval needed for exceptions. Keep the confirmed range, source and review date with the released project records.
Release checklist
- Resolve conflicting notes or units before the order is released.
- Confirm whether the requirement is routine, requires an engineering trial or is outside the proposed scope.
- Agree inspection or verification evidence and the owner of unresolved design decisions.
